MONDAYS: Bob Fuller's Hillbilly Night at the Wheel Club, 3373 Cavendish (below Sherbrooke), in NDG.  Free admission, begins at 9PM.  Started by Bob Fuller 39 years ago and still run by him, Hillbilly Night is an internationally-known event that welcomes all who are in favor of or at least open to Old-Time Country Music.  It is attended by the young and the old, the French and the English, the ladies and the gentlemen, the hip and the square.  Singers, whether amateur or professional, do two songs each in a rotation backed by a pool of able players.  Styles covered include bluegrass, western swing, rockabilly, honky tonk, skiffle, old-timey, fiddle tunes, hillbilly, country boogie, Nashville Sound, and then some.  You haven't seen anything like it.  This event has built a real and expanding community, and is a jewel in the cultural world of Montreal.  (poster by John Parsons).

Livingstone’s originals – very popular with his fans – reflect a mix of these influences as well as a highly developed, lyrical style.
The Trio has been charming club and festival audiences around Québec with its own brand of roots blues and ragtime since 2004. Combine Dan’s talents on guitar and dobro with his haunting vocals, the colorful violin melodies of Bernadette Fortin, along with her own vocal abilities, and a solid foundation from Mike Reilly’s visceral bass grooves and this band will take you on a musical journey blending blues and other traditional music from the border of Mexico to the Appalachians and northwards on to Québec and the Maritimes.
